Valve has announced plans to give away a Steam Deck every minute of The Game Awards 2022. At least 150 Steam Decks are expected to make the giveaway.

For your chance to be one of the giveaway winners, you’ll need to live in the US, Canada, UK, or the EU. Those living in any one of the following regions are eligible:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States.

The giveaway is limited to these countries because these are the countries where Valve directly sells the Steam Deck.

For players not in the required regions, you’re out of luck. Players in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan can expect the Steam Deck to be released late 2022.
