‘Final Fantasy 1-VI Pixel Remaster” Collection Heading to PS4 & Nintendo Switch

Square Enix have announced the 2D pixel remasters of Final Fantasy I-IV are on their way to PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster Collection

Regardless of edition purchased, the pixel remaster collection features:

  • Classic Final Fantasy titles reborn with vivid 2D pixel graphics, including the iconic Final Fantasy character designs created by Kazuko Shibuya, the original artist and current collaborator.
  • Beautifully rearranged soundtrack, overseen by original composer Nobuo Uematsu.
  • Improved gameplay with modernised UI, auto-battle options, and more!
  • Extras such as a beastiary, illustration gallery and music player.
  • Newly developed remaster editions based on the original titles.
  • Note: Some of the changes and additional elements found in other remakes are not included.

The Limited Final Fantasy I-VI FF35th Anniversary physical edition includes:

  • Final Fantasy I-VI Collection – physical collection of all games for either PS4 or Nintendo Switch.
  • Anniversary Edition GOODS BOX.
  • A bonus lenticular sleeve for the game package.
  • 2-disc vinyl record set featuring newly arranged game music with exclusive cover artwork by Kazuko Shibuya.
  • A specially compiled artbook showcasing beautiful character pixel art.
  • Eight stylized pixel art character figures in window packaging.

Where to buy:

The limited physical edition can be pre-ordered now, but only from the Square Enix Store.

Quantities are limited and fans in some international regions, such as Australia, won’t be able to order it. The only alternative in these instances will be to wait and find a reseller on eBay.

Additional Release info

Each title will be digitally available separately or you can buy them all as a complete bundle.

A small run of a physical standard edition, titled the Final Fantasy I-VI Collection, will also be made available. These can only be purchased through the Square Enix Store.

Once again, for fans unable to purchase through the Square Enix store due to international restrictions, the only option will be to wait and find a reseller on eBay.

Actual release date of all editions on PS4 and Nintendo Switch is TBA, but it will be sometime in Spring 2023.
